AMC has cancelled Rubicon. Am I surprised? Absolutely not. I am very disappointed, though. I was really clinging to the hope that AMC would give it just one more season. The “glacial” pace of the show never bothered me. The characters were interesting enough that it didn’t matter. It was such a smart show, maybe too smart for its own good. Ah, well. I will miss you, Miles Fiedler!

  1. Wahhhh! I am so disappointed. I loved Rubicon. Yes, it was slow paced, but man, the rewards you got from sticking with it. Great characters, interesting twists. Was the girlfriend good or bad? What would Truxton do with his 4 leaf clover? Now we’ll never know? That is so frustrating. And yet Two and a Half Men is still on? And Jim Belushi continues to star in shows? 😦

  2. Damn, just left a comment but my internet connection dropped here at work and I lost it.

I agree, it is very frustrating. Rubicon was a smart show basically adrift in a sea of stupidity. Yeah, I’m exaggerating, but I’m unhappy and taking liberties.

It would be nice if they gave us a 2-hour wrap-up movie, but I think that is unlikely.

  3. Well, that just bites. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t give it more time, in order to build a bit of following and get the word spread. Shame.

  4. I agree a wrap up movie would be most welcome. Unlikely, but welcome. There are so few good shows on now, I will really miss this one.

  5. I think if The Walking Dead was not such a huge breakout hit, AMC would have given Rubicon more time.
